Home Inspection Self Assessment

Once you complete and submit your self home inspection you will be entered to win one of five $100 Amazon Gift Cards. Please return this form no later than Friday, May 26, 2023 at 12:00 PM in order to be included in the drawing. Winners will be selected randomly on Monday, June 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM.

On June 6 - 8, 2023 HUD will be visiting Harbor Point to complete a REAC inspection. For your convenience we are happy to offer self-assessed annual home inspections. Typically, our management team would come by to inspect these items but if you’d like to inspect them yourself, that’s less time we’ll need to be inside your home!

Are there any cracks, breaks, or missing covers on any of your outlets or light switches?

No matter how small, if there are any defects at all on your outlet covers or light switch covers, we want to know about it! Click here to see a few examples below this form.

Appliances

In this section, we'll simply review each of your appliances to ensure they're working properly.

Is your stove top and oven working?

Are any of your stovetop burners missing?

Is your garbage disposal working?

Is your stove’s hood missing its filter? Is the filter very dirty?

Click here to see an example below this form. Filters are designed to block dirty particles from entering the ventilation above, so naturally they can get dirty over time. A little dirtiness is harmless. But please let us know if your filter is very dirty!

Plumbing

In this section of the inspection, we'll review a few basic plumbing checkpoints.

Are any of your faucets leaking or dripping in the bathroom or kitchen?

Are your drains slow or clogged?

Let us know if any of your bathroom or kitchen drains are clogged or slow.

Are you missing any tub or sink stoppers?

General

Do you have mold or mildew on your ceiling or walls?

Do all your home’s doors (including closets) close, latch, and lock properly?

Are any of your windows or doors blocked by furniture?

If any doors or windows are blocked by furniture or other decorations, this could make it difficult for you to escape in the case of an emergency. Please let us know if there are any such obstructions in your home.

Are any of your windows in need of repair?

If any of your light switch or outlet covers are damaged in any way, we need to know about it so we can get that fixed for you. The pictures below show some examples of outlets and light switches which may be operational, but are still in need of replacement covers.

Dirty Stove Hood Filter

Don’t forget to scroll back up to complete the inspection form!

You can find your filter up above your stovetop. It should be readily visible for you to see when you look up there. If your filter is dirty like the left filter shown below, we want to replace that for you.

Foggy Windows

If your windows are foggy like in the picture below, we need to know about it so we can get that fixed for you right away.
